Increased phosphorus availability from sewage sludge ashes to maize in a crop rotation with clover

چکیده
A recycling of Phosphorus (P) from the human food chain is mandatory to secure future P supply for production. However, many available recycled fertilizers sewage sludge do not have an adequate bioavailability and, thus, are suitable their application in soils with pH >5.5–6.0, unless being combined efficient mobilization measures. The aim study was test ability red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) two thermally a subsequently grown maize. Two ashes (SSA) were investigated pot experiment at soil 7.5 differing its nitrogen (N) (added N fertilizer or biological N2 fixation (BNF)), followed by maize (Zea L.). Shoot dry matter almost doubled when previous covered BNF, instead receiving added fertilizer. Similarly, shoot removal following BNF significantly increased. It suggested that related and proton release fixing roots led measured decrease thereby increased availability tested fertilizers.

Compost, Manure and Sewage Sludge Applied to a Crop Rotation
The disposal of organic wastes specially from urban origin is a very serious problem. The recycling through agriculture is certainly one of the best solutions but it means a thorough control of the composition and doses applied, as well as the response of the crops, in production and quality. In this paper we deal with compost of solid urban residues, sewage sludge, and cow manure as a known re...
متن کاملPlant Availability of Phosphorus in Sewage Sludge Compost
Field and greenhouse studies were conducted to compare the effectiveness of Blue Plains sewage sludge compost (BLU), Parkway sewage sludge compost (PAR), and triple superphosphate (TSP) as sources of P for corn. These amendments were applied to a Sassafras sandy loam (T> pic Hapludults) in a field study and to the Sassafras soil and a Christiana silty clay loam (Typic Paleudults) in a greenhous...
متن کاملDrivers of Plant-Availability of Phosphorus from Thermally Conditioned Sewage Sludge as Assessed by Isotopic Labeling
Urban sewage sludge is a potential source of phosphorus (P) for agriculture and represents an alternative way to recycle P as fertilizer. However, the use of thermally conditioned sewage sludge (TCSS) required an accurate assessment of its value as P-fertilizer. This work aimed at assessing the plant-availability of P from TCSS. Uptake of P by a mixture of ryegrass and fescue from TCSS and trip...

متن کاملeffects of wheat rhizosphere on phosphorus availability and some biological properties in soils treated with municipal sewage sludge
rhizosphere has different chemical and biological properties from the bulk soil. information about phosphorus (p) availability in the rhizosphere soils treated with municipal sewage sludge (mss) is limited. therefore, the objectives of this research were to evaluate the rhizospheric effects of wheat (triticum aestivum l.) on phosphorus availability and biological properties in 10 calcareous soi...
